John, when Roe v. Wade was overturned two years ago, I sent the email attached below.

I was outraged then, and I'm sickened now by the ongoing assault on women unleashed in the states. Within less than two years, 21 states banned or heavily restricted abortion access — a continuing reminder that Republicans don't care in the least about women’s safety or reproductive rights.

The overturn of Roe opened up the floodgates for anti-choice Republicans to not only limit abortion access in states across the country, but also come after birth control, abortion medication, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures.

Just think of what can happen in the next two years if we don't fight back.

After almost 50 years as the law of the land, Roe v. Wade has been struck down and our constitutional right to freedom over our own bodies eliminated.

I'm furious, John. Are you furious? If so: it's time to fight.

The consequences for millions of our fellow Americans and countless families are coming fast or are already here. Reproductive care and essential health care services across the country are stopping. And the Republican Party is congratulating itself on a job well done — and preparing to go much further to rip away our rights.

EMILYs List knows how to fight back, and we ARE fighting back, with every proud Democratic pro-choice woman we help elect in 2022. We have to channel our fury into action. We have to act together, and we have to act right now.

I know Democratic pro-choice women can do this because we've done it before. After the election of Donald Trump and the Me Too movement in 2018, we fought back and took control of the House and Senate. We have to protect those gains in 2022, and elect pro-choice majorities in the states.

I believe in these fierce candidates. And I believe in this community more than ever. We won't stand for these attacks on our freedom, and we must elect Democratic pro-choice champions to every level of office who will never, ever give in to the forces who seek to control us and our destinies.
