John, it’s been two years since the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson ruling, which overturned Roe v. Wade and 50 years of reproductive care protections.
Since then, we’ve seen extreme abortion bans passed across the country, including in South Carolina. We’ve seen efforts to restrict travel for reproductive care, abortion medication, and IVF treatment. And this month, 39 Senate Republicans voted against a Democrat-led bill that would enshrine the right to contraception.
We know the right to contraception is under threat just like Roe was under threat. In fact, conservative Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in his Dobbs opinion that the court shouldn’t stop at overturning Roe. He suggested reconsidering other decisions, including Griswold v. Connecticut, which protects the right to use contraceptives.
If we’re going to restore and protect access to all forms of reproductive care, then we need to win elections. If we’re going to put reproductive care decisions back where they belong -- between women, their doctors, and families -- then we need to flip the House and re-elect President Biden.
And to do that, we need to raise the financial resources to help Democrats run strong campaigns that can win this November. That’s where you can make a difference, John. Please contribute before the FEC deadline this Sunday.
