Today is a somber anniversary, john.

Two years ago today, the Supreme Court confirmed what we expected after the opinion was leaked: abortion rights are no longer protected. Roe v. Wade is no longer the law of the land.

We’ve felt the catastrophic impacts of this decision ever since. Across the country, millions of women have lost the fundamental right to seek an abortion. Right-wing legislators took this decision as an opportunity to further restrict reproductive rights. In Texas, abortion providers can be sued. In Alabama, a court’s ruling led to a pause in in-vitro fertilization (IVF). The list goes on.

Frankly, I’ve been devastated by the constant attacks on women’s freedoms. That the Supreme Court, full of justices appointed by Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell, has deprived women nationwide of abortion rights is unacceptable.

I’ve turned this pain and sadness into purpose and action in the Senate.

My Democratic colleagues and I have introduced legislation to protect abortion access, medication abortion, IVF, birth control, and more — because while the right-wing attacks on women’s health continue, we need to step up.

john, when the Dobbs decision first came out two years ago, I wrote,

“We must stay strong together, we must organize, and I’ll be right there on the front lines with you.

With Roe gone, the most important thing we can do right now is to protect and expand our Senate majority. If we organize, work hard, and stop Mitch McConnell from flipping the Senate, we will have a chance to expand the Supreme Court, abolish the filibuster, and codify the right to an abortion into federal law.”

I’m still in this fight, and I know you are too.

Please, help me keep up this vital work to protect women’s healthcare by pitching in today. I’ll do everything in my power to protect the Senate majority, elect Democrats, and restore abortion access for every woman in this country. [[link removed]]
