Good morning.

As you might have guessed by the uptick in emails lately, I am about to ask you to make a contribution to my Senate campaign before our FEC deadline ends. As you may know from past end-of-quarter FEC deadlines, candidates are legally required to disclose all of their fundraising at the end of every three month period.

Our next quarterly FEC deadline is June 30th, after which we will file a public fundraising report detailing how much we raised and how many contributions we received.

But this is no ordinary FEC deadline, so please give me a chance to explain:

This FEC fundraising deadline is not only the last full deadline before we find out our Republican opponent, but it is the last one before the Republican National Convention.

That's a big deal.

Because these conventions are a place where party leadership, candidates, and other stakeholders come together to establish their strategic priorities: what issues they will focus on, what issues they will focus on, what elections they need to win and where, and investments they're going to make in Senate races like ours.

And the FEC report we file will be one of the last things they see when they gather. In fact, it's due on the first day they gather.

File a weak report, and that can mean a lot more spending against us, making it more difficult to win. File a strong report, and maybe some will look elsewhere.

It's not just about the amount of money we raise, but the number of donations we receive sends a strong message as well. So please, contribute $5, $10, $50 or whatever feels worth holding on to this U.S. Senate seat for Democrats this November. Every donation matters.
