1,051,200 minutes - how do you measure two years under Dobbs? In ballots, in marches, in restrictions, in zombie laws? We’d keep going, but we’re not sure how to sing about and/or rhyme ‘guttural screams of rage’. In the last two years since Roe was overturned, we’ve seen 14 states ban abortion completely, 7 more with near total bans, leaving 10's of millions without legal abortion care in their own communities and running the very real risk of death and incarceration for simply trying to ACCESS HEALTHCARE.  

For nine years now, AAF has shown up to do all we can to lighten the load for providers and patients, as it’s important to remember that so many restrictions and burdens were in place before the fall of Roe and have only gotten worse, and the work of Abortion AF is needed now, more than ever!

In just the two years since the fall of Roe, AAF has helped immigrant patients feel less alone by coordinating document translation services for their care. We create and assemble hundreds of post abortion care packages so every patient can leave with some menstrual pads, condoms, heating pads, self care items, and notes of support and encouragement. We want to make sure every patient feels like they have someone in their corner.

And for the providers, we are always at the ready to send lunches, paint clinics, provide gorgeous artwork specifically designed by our AAF team, and any other task or self care they ask for to help them take a moment to rest, relax, and celebrate themselves!

These are just a few of the ways #WeShowUp and that’s not even counting the thousands of Plan B doses, and postcards of support we send all year round!

None of that could have happened without you believing in our work and supporting our mission, so thank you for believing in us. We can’t wait for y’all to join us in making the next two years our best EVER!

Having said that, tbh, we are also full of rage that we sit on the Overturniversary of Roe, waiting for another SCOTUS abortion shoe to drop! 
Earlier this month, SCOTUS kept its grubby mitts off of medication abortion (for now), but we’re sweating through our wiglets waiting for a second abortion ruling. The Court will soon decide if the federal government’s EMTALA act, which requires that all emergency rooms that take medicaid funding provide any and all care to stabilize a patient, includes abortion care. Fighting for the right not to die- this is what it has come to, and this is why we need you to join us!
