Year of the dragon: Two major reports explore threats from China and how, in one case, the Biden administration is playing into the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). 

• Brent Sadler, a senior research fellow in the Allison Center for National Security, notes that the Biden administration’s aggressive “green energy” agenda is forcing the U.S. military to be more dependent on China’s energy sector. • The other report, written by Nathan Levine, a visiting fellow in the B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies, examines China’s campaign to undermine the cultural pillars of the West, noting that the CCP views “the West’s loss of the confidence to defend itself to be a fact of historic significance.” Read Levine’s report here.

Red-pilled: What impact will costly “green” mandates have on the climate? 

• Chief Statistician Kevin Dayaratna, Web Producer Christina Hamm, and Web Development Manager Jay Simon created The Heritage Foundation Climate Calculator, “an online tool that enables the public…to simulate the climate effects of these policies.”

The good fight: A Heritage-hosted event outside the Supreme Court protesting the Biden administration’s Title IX rule became contentious when angry pro-LGBTQ agitators got in the face of John Malcolm, vice president of the Institute for Constitutional Government.

• “Radical activists are trying to use America’s public schools to change the culture of our country, and Biden is helping them,” said Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice.

No biggie: That seems to be President Biden’s motto when it comes to laws that don’t fit his policy goals. 

• The latest example? A back-door amnesty plan for half a million or more people living illegally in the U.S. that ignores the will of Congress.  
• Senior Research Fellow Simon Hankinson explains: “‘Parole in place’ will allow foreign nationals living here illegally to jump ahead of millions who are patiently waiting legally in line.”
