Townhall: The mainstream media has been downplaying President Joe Biden’s border crisis since day one of his administration where he signed several executive orders lifting Trump-era policies resulting in millions of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. For years, the liberal media has denied the crisis at the southern border only to later blame Republicans for the problem that Biden created. Left-leaning outlets also went out of their way to hide the immigration status of illegal immigrants who committed crimes, such as murder, against Americans (Townhall). Terrorists Open Fire in Two Russian Cities Killing Six Police Officers

Guardian: Gunmen opened fire in two cities in Russia’s north Caucasus region of Dagestan, targeting a synagogue, two Orthodox churches and a police post and killing at least six police officers and a priest, officials said. In the city of Derbent, gunmen attacked a synagogue, home to a Jewish community in the predominantly Muslim region. Russia’s state media Tass said the attackers also shot at two nearby Orthodox churches, killing a police officer and a priest. Footage published on social media from Derbent showed a group of gunmen engaged in heavy fire with police. Officials said the Derbent synagogue was set on fire and a clip from the scene appeared to show flames coming out of the building, which is listed as a Unesco heritage site. In a separate shooting occurring simultaneously, a group opened fire on police in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, located about 75 miles north along the Caspian Sea coast. A clip posted by Russian media from Makhachkala showed scenes of gunfire and a burned police vehicle. The Russian interior ministry said in a statement that six police officers had been killed in the two shootings and 12 injured. Officials in Dagestan appeared to confirm the shootings were linked (Guardian). Visgrad 24: Islamist terror attack in Dagestan, Russia against a synagogue and a church. DHS Advisory Board Lays Out What Makes Someone Qualify as a Domestic Extremist

Daily Wire: A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) advisory board said that being religious, having served in the military, or supporting former president Donald Trump are all markers of domestic extremists, according to documents obtained by America First Legal. The legal nonprofit obtained documents from the since-disbanded Homeland Intelligence Experts Group through litigation and released the latest tranche of documents on Friday. America First Legal in conjunction with former ambassador Ric Grenell sued DHS over the board, which had included members such as former CIA director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. Brennan and Clapper publicly pushed Russian collusion hoax conspiracies against Trump, and both former national security officials in October 2020 denied the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop, attributing it to likely Russian disinformation (Daily Wire). America First Legal: Under the Brennan-Clapper committee’s approach to national security, when all else fails, DHS should use being “in the military” or “religious” to profile people and tag them as having “indicators of extremists and terrorism” as a pretext to allow DHS to spy on them. According to the Group, “we should be more worried about these” (America First legal).

Republicans Working to Stop Illegal Immigrants From Receiving Voter Registration Forms

New York Post: Welfare offices and other agencies in 49 US states are providing voter registration forms to migrants without requiring proof of citizenship, leading Republicans and conservatives to call for swift federal action to stop the handouts. Every state but Arizona — which recently passed a law barring the practice on state but not federal forms — gives applicants for either welfare benefits, driver’s licenses, or in some cases, mail-in ballots voter registration forms without demanding proof of citizenship. There is currently no requirement on federal voting forms to provide proof of US citizenship, though it is illegal to falsely claim one is a citizen or for a non-citizen to cast a ballot in a federal election. But millions of migrants with humanitarian parole, refugee or asylum status are eligible for benefits that would bring them to the offices where voter registration takes place. The House Administration Committee last month approved the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to require states to receive proof of citizenship when anyone registers to vote by mail, at a DMV or a welfare agency office. “It is undeniable that the current structure makes it possible for illegal immigrants and non-citizens to vote — and the American people have no way of knowing how widespread the problem may be,” said Ryan Walker, executive vice president at Heritage Action. “The SAVE Act puts all of these issues to rest and gives Americans confidence that our elections are decided on a more even playing field,” Walker said (New York Post).

Jewish Parents Assaulted at Elementary-School Graduation, Police Say Not a Hate Crime

National Review: An Arabic-speaking family assaulted a Jewish mother and her husband at an elementary-school graduation in Brooklyn last weekend while shouting “Free Palestine,” “Gaza is ours,” and “Death to Israel,” the New York Post reported. At PS 682, the Jewish mother by the name of Lana told the Post that a man identified as Ez-Al Dean Bazar sucker punched her husband, Johan, before putting him in a choke hold. “A woman from the group came up behind me, pulled me by the hair, and knocked me down on the ground, shouting ‘I will kill you,’” Lana added. While the school did not have any security present, two male teachers ultimately broke up the fight. Bazar, the alleged assailant, was arrested and released on his own recognizance, and the New York Police Department did not classify the assault as a hate crime, something with which Lana has taken issue given the chants the Arabic-speaking family shouted at her and her husband (National Review). New York Post: It was one of the worst outbursts of antisemitism in NYC public schools since the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack in Israel and war in Gaza, because it escalated beyond words, said Tova Plaut, a city educator and advocate for Jewish peers. After the couple urged the NYPD to reconsider, a spokesperson said Saturday, “The Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident” (New York Post).

Netanyahu Says Israel is Close to Easing Up Gaza Offensive

Wall Street Journal: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said Israel is close to shifting to a less-intense phase of fighting in Gaza, and that he opposes the idea of re-establishing Israeli civilian settlements in Gaza, a key ambition of his far-right coalition partners. He also said he hopes the U.S. will expedite arms shipments to Israel, following a public spat with Washington. “The intensive phase of the war is about to end,” Netanyahu said in an interview televised Sunday evening, a rare live prime-time appearance for an Israeli audience. He said that fighting would continue in Gaza until Hamas is fully uprooted (Wall Street Journal). Reuters: Once the intense fighting is over in Gaza, Netanyahu said, Israel will be able to deploy more forces along the northern border with Lebanon, where fighting with Iran-backed Hezbollah has escalated (Reuters).

Anti-Israel Protesters Target Jewish Synagogue in Los Angeles, Physically Attack Jews

Breitbart: Several dozen pro-Palestinian activists targeted an Orthodox Jewish synagogue in the heart of the Pico-Robertson on Sunday, blocking the entrance to an event promoting real estate investment in Israel. Sunday marked was the second time pro-Palestinian activists have targeted a synagogue in L.A. in the past several days. On Friday, protesters targeted another synagogue and school in the Valley Village area, for unknown reasons (Breitbart). Visgrad24: Anti-Israel protesters are physically attacking Jews in front of a synagogue in Los Angeles (X). Andy Ngo: LAPD push back a violent armed mob (pepper spray) who had surrounded the front of the Adas Torah Synagogue in Los Angeles. Unable to attack the synagogue, the militants assaulted pro-Israel journalists and protesters, leading to ongoing brawls (X).

Independent Women’s Forum Tour Bus Vandalized by Anti-Women Radicals

HotAir: Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) members, a women’s advocacy group, are on a 13-day bus tour. The tour is called the “Our Bodies Our Sports – Take Back Title IX” tour. It is bringing attention to the Biden administration’s rewriting of Title IX. Riley Gaines, NCAA swimmer Paula Scanan, and legendary tennis star Martina Navratilova are joining the women. Riley Gaines, a former NCAA champion swimmer and current podcast host, was at the forefront of speaking out against transgender athletes in women’s sports. The supporters of trans athletes are an active, intense population. Progressives are more concerned with appeasing a tiny minority of trans activists than they are with preserving women’s sports. IWF members are frequently criticized as being anti-trans. The tour bus was vandalized with vulgar language and messages written with Sharpie markers, calling the group anti-trans on Thursday in North Carolina (HotAir). President Biden Approves Voting Stations for Iranian Presidential Election on U.S. Soil

Daily Wire: President Joe Biden will allow the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, to operate absentee voter stations on U.S. soil for the country’s upcoming presidential election. Voice of America, a U.S.-state-owned news network and international radio broadcaster, reported that Iranian Foreign Ministry official Alireza Mahmoudi recently informed Iranian state media that the country is planning to set up dozens of ballot stations across the U.S. The country claims that the U.S. accounts for 30% of Iran’s diaspora, the largest percentage of any country, the report said (Daily Wire). VOA: Iran’s last parliamentary and presidential elections, in March and 2021, respectively, drew record-low official turnouts, with the lack of choices leaving much of the electorate disinterested. Opponents of Iran’s clerical rulers at home and abroad repeatedly have called for boycotts of Iranian elections, which they view as shams, and they have done so again for the June 28 vote. They also have noted that the Islamic republic seeks legitimacy for its 45-year authoritarian rule by trying to boost turnout for such elections (VOA).

Climate Protesters Rush Hole 18 of the PGA Tour in Connecticut

CNN: Protesters ran onto the 18th green in the final round of the PGA’s Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut, Sunday, leaving a powdery substance on the putting surface and delaying play for several minutes. Video from broadcaster CBS showed several of the five demonstrators wearing shirts reading: “No golf on a dead planet.” Police quickly removed the protesters, allowing the final pairing of Tom Kim and Scottie Scheffler to finish the hole in a tie and move to a playoff (CNN).
