Warren for Senate

Abortion is on the ballot this year. Not just in the presidential election — but in elections down the ballot across the country.

The good news with that is that every time abortion rights have been left up to voters in the two years since Roe v. Wade was overturned, abortion rights have won. Every single time. Not by a little bit, not by a squeaker, but by a big margin.

But also since Roe v. Wade was overturned, the consequences have been horrendous. Women and girls have been forced to carry pregnancies against their will. People have been forced to travel thousands of miles away and cross state lines for a chance at life-saving health care. And doctors have been forced to deny emergency abortions for fear of being arrested and thrown in jail.

In Missouri, Republican legislators took it to the extreme. They implemented a near-total ban on abortions — one of the strictest in the country — with no exception for rape or incest.

Missourians are fighting back — they are fighting to pass a ballot initiative in November that would end Missouri's abortion ban and put medical decisions into the hands of patients. And Missourians for Constitutional Freedom have been at the forefront of that fight.

This is another chance for abortion rights to win in the states, but we’ve got to fight hard for this. So can you please make a contribution of $28 or anything you can right now to support Missourians for Constitutional Freedom? Your full donation will go toward this critical organization.

Now, when Missourians for Constitutional Freedom first proposed this ballot initiative, they faced all kinds of obstacles. From disputes over the description of the ballot measure, to public pushback, to Republicans in the state trying to make it harder to amend the state’s constitution altogether.

This will be an uphill battle, but this movement is no stranger to winning righteous fights. When abortion also got on the ballot in Kansas, in Ohio, in Michigan, and in Florida, this community helped raise almost $200,000 to support the organizations working to secure abortion rights in those states — and now we need to come together again to support abortion rights in Missouri.

Right-wing judges don’t get the final say. The people do. On the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade tomorrow, please make a contribution of $28 or anything you can to support Missourians for Constitutional Freedom and ensure we can protect abortion rights in Missouri.

I’m going to keep fighting for Democrats to get a majority in the House, a majority in the Senate, and for Joe Biden to win the White House so we can pass national abortion protections and prevent Republicans from passing a national abortion ban. Along the way, we also need to keep supporting abortion initiatives in states across the country — if it makes a difference for just one patient, that would be enough.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth
