As we approach the second anniversary of the devastating Dobbs decision, I’m reminded of the intense emotions and profound sadness we felt when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Since that moment, it has been an extremely dark chapter in our fight for women’s and reproductive rights. As the father of two daughters, I am more committed to this battle than ever.

I have always championed women’s rights - whether it be in Congress by voting to codify Roe v. Wade or on the campaign trail where I’ve spoken to some of you about this very topic - and I promise you that will never change.

Now Republicans want to pass a national abortion ban, which would eliminate abortion rights including here in California. This is a direct assault on women’s freedoms, and it’s absolutely shameful. But just like we never thought they would overturn Roe, we can’t pull the wool over our eyes that women’s rights are safe here in California. We cannot be duped again.

My opponent Kevin Lincoln is a Republican who wants to take away women’s right to an abortion. We can’t let him get elected. He could be the final vote they need to criminalize abortion nationwide.

If you’re still just outraged as the day this decision was announced, I hope you will chip in to my competitive race and help us win the fight to protect women’s reproductive rights in this country.

This race is one way that we fight back.
