New Passport Agency Coming to San Antonio Recently, the U.S. Department of State named San Antonio as one of six cities that will receive a new passport agency. This new facility will greatly improve access to in-person and emergency passport services in South Texas. This is a big win as there are currently only three facilities in our state—El Paso, Dallas, and Houston. The additional passport agency is a result of the FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which I proudly voted for in the U.S. House of Representatives. For assistance with passport services, please call my office at 210-806-9920. School Safety Roundtable in San Antonio Before we know it, our kids will be back in the classroom. I’m committed to ensuring our schools are a safe place for students to learn and grow. On Thursday, I hosted a roundtable discussion with NEISD leadership and school safety experts. Providing our campuses with better training and school security resources is critical. In Congress, I have helped secure millions of dollars for both of these objectives, and I will continue to make school safety a priority. Congressman Tony Gonzales serves as the Co-Chair of the Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus in Congress. Groundbreaking at Defense Research Facility This week, I attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Southwest Research Institute's (SwRI) new hypersonic facility in San Antonio. I am proud to have helped secure funding for this state-of-the-art center that will support research into high-speed aerospace engines. Innovation like this is key to creating new American jobs, while improving our defense and manufacturing capabilities. Follow @RepTonyGonzales on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
