Dear John,

As we remember the repealing of Roe on its 2nd year anniversary, this Monday, we are thrilled to share with you and other members of our Feminist Majority community some good news of a significant Supreme Court decision last Friday.

The Court upheld the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban which has been successful in keeping guns out of the hands of thousands of domestic violence offenders for nearly 30 years.

This major Supreme Court decision marks a significant moment in our ongoing battle for women's rights and safety. This achievement demonstrates the power of our collective efforts and the impact of our persistent advocacy. The Feminist Majority together with the National Network to End Domestic Violence and its then director Donna Edwards, who later was elected to Congress, led the fight successfully to pass the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban law in 1996.

HOWEVER... while we can certainly celebrate this triumph, we must not let down our guard [[link removed]] . We must remain vigilant and prepared.

Here’s why. Just as in our Supreme Court victory earlier this month in keeping mifepristone—the abortion pill—accessible, these victories may be fleeting.

The MAGA extremists are relentless. These forces of darkness will undoubtedly once again bring additional cases before this mostly reactionary Supreme Court as part of their ongoing War on Women.

In short, we must not be fooled. Our celebration of what may be temporary victories must underscore the importance of our continued vigilance, preparation and mobilization for the ultimate battle—the 2024 elections . [[link removed]]

Each of us must do our part to channel our energy and resources to secure a decisive victory that will safeguard the progress we have made and pave the way for further advances for women's rights and equality.

Your dedication and support are the pillars we rely on in achieving these victories. Together, we must ensure that our collective voice remains strong and that we are fully prepared for the challenges ahead. [[link removed]]

Again, thank you for standing with us. Together, we must remain strong and resolute in our mission to protect and advance the rights and equality for all.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment.

For Equality,
