As a former chair of the DNC, I know all too well how important our efforts are to
get out the vote during off-year elections. And as the current governor of
Virginia, I'm highly invested in how this year's races finish next Tuesday.

But this election season is different. All over the country, we're seeing Republicans
like Ed Gillespie double down on the vile politics that have divided our country.
And right now, the Virginia governor's race between Ed and Ralph Northam
is as close as they come.

We need to take action, and stepping up next week is just too late.

The future of our country is hanging in the balance, Samuel. Here in Virginia,
I've worked with bipartisan support to promote policies that move our state in
the right direction:

--We've made major investments in public education that will help educate today's
workforce and prepare our kids for tomorrow's jobs market.

--Our Virginia Values Veterans program has helped tens of thousands of our heroic
service members make successful transitions from service to gainful employment as
civilians. Virginia is home to over 725,000 veterans, and we're invested in making sure
they know we appreciate their sacrifices and will always have their backs.

--We're setting hardworking families up with opportunities to succeed. Thanks to
thousands of new jobs and over $18.7 billion in capital investment brought to Virginia,
our unemployment rate is 3.7 percent -- well below the national rate.

I'm counting on Ralph Northam to protect the progress we've made here in Virginia.

But if we've learned anything these past nine months, it's that we must keep winning in
order to protect our progress, or we risk losing it all.

Let's do everything in our power to keep Virginia blue and elect Democrats all over the
