Elise Participates in Ribbon Cutting at Medisca’s New Headquarters in Plattsburgh

On Thursday, Elise was in Clinton County to speak at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the American headquarters of Medisca, a Canadian company specializing in pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturing and analytical testing. Medisca's decision to locate its headquarters in Plattsburgh is a testament to the quality workforce in NY-21 and the North Country’s commitment to cross-border economic partnership.

Elise Visits Kirsh Helmets Facility in Queensbury

On Thursday morning, Elise visited the Kirsh Helmets manufacturing facility in Queensbury. Not only is Kirsh Helmets a proud veteran-owned company, it is the only company on the market to offer motorcycle helmets that are 100% American-made.

Elise Attends Law Enforcement Round Table in Montgomery County

On Wednesday, Elise visited the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and attended a law enforcement roundtable hosted by Sheriff Jeff Smith. Elise secured over $1.5 million in the FY24 appropriations process to create an Emergency Medical Services program in the county and Sheriff Smith updated the Congresswoman on the life-saving impact of these funds.

Elise Visits McSweeney’s Red Hots

On Thursday, Elise stopped into one of NY-21’s local small businesses, McSweeney’s Red Hots in Plattsburgh! McSweeney’s Red Hots is known for its Michigan hot dogs and has been in business for over 80 years! Elise has stopped at McSweeney’s every cycle and is proud to support this amazing family-owned business.

Elise Rebukes Joe Biden’s Mass Amnesty Executive Order

On Tuesday, Joe Biden announced yet another Executive Order that worsens America’s immigration crisis. This new order prohibits the deportation of illegal immigrants who are married to American citizens and provides these spouses and also their non citizen children with a pathway to permanent residency.

“Since taking office Joe Biden has taken over 60 executive actions to reverse President Trump’s secure border policies and implement his failed Far Left Democrat open borders agenda that has turned every American community into a border community and threatens our national security.

In the midst of this historic border crisis Biden has decided to issue another unconstitutional executive order that grants mass amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants. Biden’s executive order will only worsen the invasion happening at our Southern Border and force Americans to foot the bill for Biden’s open border policies.

Americans are demanding that we secure our borders and in order to do that we must stop incentivizing illegal immigration and return to President Trump’s successful border security policies.”

Elise Delivers Results for Upstate NY and Fort Drum in the 2025 NDAA

Last Friday, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025. Elise fought for and secured several investments in Upstate New York and the North Country in the bill.

Elise stated –

“As a senior member on the House Armed Services Committee, I am proud to have crafted and voted to pass the national defense bill for fiscal year 2025 and secure critical wins for Fort Drum, the 10th Mountain Division, and all of Upstate New York. This bill includes significant investments in emerging technology, provides for our military families, and equips our service members with modern capabilities and platforms as they fight to protect our nation and deter our adversaries. House Republicans are stepping up where the Biden Administration has failed to deliver peace through strength and preserve American values.”

Real Results for NY-21 included in the 2025 NDAA:

• Requires the Department of Defense to construct an East Coast Missile Defense Site at Fort Drum
• Aligns the 10th Mountain Division’s Alpine Initiative into the Army’s Arctic Strategy
• Accelerates the development, implementation, and fielding of counter drone technology
• Authorizes robust funding for the Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, NY
• Secures millions of dollars to recapitalize the New York Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Wing’s LC-130 Skibird planes
• Invests in several technologies developed by NY-21 companies
• Authorizes a 19.5% basic pay increase for junior enlisted service members
• Improves the healthcare and childcare for military families
• Supports military spouses by making it easier for them to find and maintain employment

Committee on Education and the Workforce Advances Elise’s Bills

Combatting the Lies of Authoritarians in School Systems (CLASS) Act

On Thursday, June 13th, 2024 the House Committee on Education and the Workforce reported the CLASS Act out of committee and to the full House for a vote. Elise and Rep. Dave Joyce of Ohio introduced this bill to combat the infiltration of the Chinese Communist Party in our nation's schools and universities. This legislation would prevent any school or academic institution that receives federal funding from entering into a contract with or accepting funds from agents of the Chinese government or CCP.
