Happy Pride Month, friend! π³οΈβπ π³οΈββ§οΈ
This month, we celebrate the power, resilience, and joy of the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride is a time to revisit lessons from Black, Brown, and Trans activists like Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, who not only fought back against policy brutality at the 1969 Stonewall Uprising but also shaped and led the movement for intersectional liberation. Pride is also a call to action.
At NILC, we are fighting for an inclusive future where everyone β of different races, immigration statuses, gender identities and expressions, and economic means β can live freely and authentically. The path forward depends on our ability to build power across movements and push for inclusive laws and policies that center human dignity for all.
In the spirit of collective action, we proudly stand alongside organizations that directly support LGBTQIA+ immigrant communities and work on the issues that impact them the most. We are asking you, friend, to join us in supporting their critical work:
Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant Project (BLMP)
BLMP supports Black LGBTQIA+ migrants, ensuring they receive the resources, advocacy, and community support they need to thrive.
β
LGBTQ Freedom Fund
LGBTQ Freedom Fund works tirelessly to secure the release of LGBTQ individuals held in immigration and jail detention, providing them with the freedom and dignity they deserve.
β
Immigration Equality
Immigration Equality offers vital legal services and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ immigrants, helping them navigate complex legal challenges and fight for their rights.
β
Your donation will be evenly distributed among all three organizations.
We all should have the opportunity and freedom to thrive in this country. Friend, your voice and support, alongside these organizations, strengthens our fight for equity and justice for all.
Thank you,
