SERVICE ACADEMY APPOINTMENTS

I am happy to announce and congratulate the 2024 Military Academy Appointments from the 41st Congressional District. Nominating extraordinary students from our region to attend the academies is one of the highest honors I’m afforded as a U.S. Representative. In addition to the students, I want to thank their families, friends, teachers, and everyone who supported them.

Here is a list of the candidates I nominated and have also received and accepted an Offer of Appointment to our nation's service academies, and will be part of the Class of 2028 entering this summer:

Naval Academy

  • Sophia Campbell, Centennial High School

Air Force Academy

  • Melody Kidder, Murrieta Valley High School (Class of 2023), Currently, Air Force Preparatory School
  • Jahnvi Shah, Eleanor Roosevelt High School (Class of 2023), Currently, Air Force Preparatory School

West Point

INVESTING IN INNOVATION

No one innovates and develops groundbreaking technologies like American entrepreneurs. One of my highest priorities as Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee is turning that technological advantage into a national security advantage. I was excited to be at the Defense Innovation Unit in Silicon Valley this week along with my colleagues and military leaders to talk about how the Defense Department is utilizing the resources we have provided them to make that a reality.

RELIEF FROM HIGHER PRICES

Image

Americans continue to struggle with rising prices. That’s why I’m fighting to provide relief by supporting increased American energy production, opposing costly government regulations and keeping taxes low for working families. I voted to double the Child Tax Credit because the last thing parents raising children should have to worry about is sending more of the money they earn to Washington, D.C. I will keep working on bipartisan efforts to provide relief for Americans suffering from higher prices.
