I’ve seen firsthand the chaos the MAGA right has created in the House. From multiple, MULTIPLE votes and re-votes to fill the Speaker position, to House Democrats scrambling to keep the government funded, and more, the People’s House has been more focused on political stunts than serving Americans.
In 2024, we’re facing an even more existential threat – with Donald Trump at the top of the ticket, the MAGA Republican Party is doing whatever it can to keep the House, flip the Senate, and take the White House.
It’s up to us to stop them, especially in a battleground state like Virginia.
As Virginia’s first Black Congresswoman and the daughter of community leaders and educators who were raised in the segregated South, I know that the heart of our country is at stake in this election.
Whether we ban abortion at the federal level or defend reproductive freedom, whether we put barriers to or defend access to the ballot, and whether we move forward with solutions for the affordability crisis or not all depend on what happens over the next few months.
