Coronavirus

Current advice from Public Health England remains to stay at home to save lives and only go out when absolutely necessary for food, medicine, work or exercise.

Please avoid non-essential use of public transport, however if you do have to travel please ensure you continue to follow social distancing advice; avoid standing near other passengers and use hand sanitiser/wash your hands after touching surfaces.

Please do not travel if you are feeling unwell or are showing any symptoms of Coronavirus, including a new continuous cough or high temperature. For more information and advice on symptoms of the virus, please visit gov.uk/coronavirus

Many of our travel operators and partners are operating a reduced service and are making every effort to keep you safe if you must travel. We will try to keep you updated of any service changes as a result via our website and on social media, but please check with your individual operators before you travel. 

The latest travel updates

🚍 CT4N have suspended all services until further notice.

Travel partners have worked together to provide an alternative service to ensure key workers can get to and from their place of work.

  • From Monday 20 April NCT will be providing a temporary replacement Medilink service, serving all normal stops except Queens Drive Park and Ride.

🚖 Nottingham City Hackney Taxis are now offering NHS staff free journeys to and from their place of work. Please show the driver your NHS identification to get your free journey.

🚘 Enterprise Car Club is offering NHS Staff/Volunteers, Emergency Services, Armed Forces & Key Workers up to 45% off hourly rental rates and free membership for essential travel.

🅿️ Queens Drive and Racecourse Park and Ride are closed due to reduced customer demand.

🚆 On Sunday 19 April there will be a rail replacement bus between Wakefield Kirkgate and Leeds for those traveling between Nottingham and Leeds (change at Sheffield).

🔌 A number of electric car charging points are inaccessible due to the Coronavirus outbreak resulting in the closure of a number of facilities and car parks. To see which charge points are out of service please visit...

The Council has sought best practice about sanitising the on street hire bikes during the Coronavirus outbreak.

As a result, the frequency of bike cleaning and docking stations has been increased significantly. Individual users are expected to follow Government guidelines in terms of washing hands/using hand sanitiser after using the bikes and to avoid touching their faces

RideWise Emergency Bike Bank

Ridewise have launched an Emergency Bike Bank to support essential workers who are struggling to get to their homes, communities or workplace due to the current restrictions and reductions of public transport services. 

Help them by donating to their fundraiser or by donating a bike that can be used by someone who needs help during these difficult times.

Essential works to be carried out by various contractors in preparation for Broadmarsh and the Broadmarsh carpark. More info here...

Wednesday 15 April - Tuesday 28 April: Aspley Lane
Two way lights between Woodrow Avenue and Ayleston Drive while a HV cable fault is seen to.

Wednesday 15 April - Friday 22 May: London Road
Lane closure from Victoria Embankment junction to Trent Bridge above the pedestrian footpath for gas mains replacement.

Friday 17 April - Tuesday 21 April: Clarendon Street
Two way lights at the junction with Talbot Street due to burst water main in carriageway.

Monday 20 April - TBC: Lace Market Car Park
Car park closed until further notice while urgent maintenance and repair works are carried out.

Clifton Bridge continues to operate under one eastbound Lane. Highways England are continuing investigations.
