Rawlins man pleads guilty to killing an antlered elk without proper license

A case regarding the illegal killing of a bull elk in a limited quota hunt area on Oct. 31, 2023, was recently closed after multiple tips and an investigation by local game wardens identified the suspect.

Don’t approach newborn wildlife

As you travel around Wyoming enjoying the spring weather, you may come across newborn wildlife. These young fawns, hatchlings and other babies are charismatic and incredible to watch and photograph. While it may be tempting to get close, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department urges people to leave newborn wildlife alone and keep a distance.

Report dead wild rabbits to Game and Fish

Wyomingites are being asked to keep a lookout for dead rabbits in their yards, rural property and other outdoor areas. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is continuing surveillance for Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus 2 (RHDV2). The disease was first detected in Wyoming in December 2020 and has been identified in 20 rabbits across eight counties in 2024. Testing rabbits is key to monitoring the disease spread.
