Friend –

As soon as Tuesday, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives could vote on a bill to lower barriers to contraception for millions of residents of the commonwealth. House Bill 1140 will require insurance companies to cover both prescription and over-the-counter birth control at no cost.

Take action right now to ask your state representative to vote "yes" on this critically important legislation. <[link removed]>

Access to contraception improves the lives of women and people who may become pregnant. Nine of 10 American women use birth control at some point in their lives, for various health reasons, and 65 percent of women of reproductive age currently are using contraception. For millions of people, that has meant the ability to support themselves financially, finish their education, and get and keep a job.

For too many Americans, cost can be a barrier, with a disproportionate impact on Black and brown people. HB 1140 removes that barrier by requiring insurance companies to cover contraception without cost-sharing.

This legislation is a step forward that's been a long time coming. Please tell your state rep to support access to contraception and vote "yes" on HB 1140. <[link removed]>
