Hello, Friends —
This week, I was proud to join with Rep. Thomas Massie in introducing the “Tax Free Tips Act of 2024.” Our legislation would provide financial relief to service-industry workers by eliminating federal income and employment taxes on their tips. President Trump has endorsed this initiative as one of his top legislative priorities.
As the cost of living continues to rise, the hardworking men and women in the service industry, many of whom may be working a second job to make ends meet, must be allowed to keep every dollar of tip money they earn. Rep. Massie’s and my bill would make this a reality, providing tax relief for millions of Americans.

AROUND THE DISTRICT
REP. GAETZ TOURS ONE HOPEFUL PLACE SUPPORT SHELTER
Eleven years ago, as a state representative in the Florida Legislature, I secured funding to turn a vision to help the homeless of Okaloosa County into a reality. On Thursday, I was able to see firsthand this vision at work as I toured One Hopeful Place in Fort Walton Beach.
One Hopeful Place gives those trying to get back on their feet a place to eat, sleep, and receive medical and mental health care; begin addiction recovery; and, ultimately, the tools to eventually start living on their own. I was truly moved while talking to staff and residents about how much One Hopeful Place means to them and how it changes lives.
They receive incredible support from our community and still have big plans in motion to eventually offer affordable housing for those who are ready to move out on their own. Thank you, One Hopeful Place, for your dedication to our community and for giving those in need the chance to live happy and successful lives.
REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS CAN SAVE STEVE BANNON AND PETER NAVARRO!

On Wednesday, I joined John Hines on One America News Network to discuss the actions the House of Representatives must take in order to remediate the actions of the January 6th Committee and prevent the ongoing miscarriage of justice against Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro.
The January 6th Committee destroyed evidence, was improperly constituted, and concealed video of Nancy Pelosi taking the blame for the attack in the immediate aftermath. However, for the past nine years, the House of Representatives has spoken on litigation through a little-known committee called the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group (BLAG). House Republican leadership can use their 3-2 majority on the BLAG to remedy the “Frankenstein’s monster” that was the January 6th Committee. That vote would give Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon a basis to petition the court to not have their prison sentences begin or continue.

REP. GAETZ SPEAKS AT BOB SIKES MUSEUM RE-DEDICATION
I was honored to speak at the re-dedication of the Bob Sikes Museum on Monday and bring to life his voice by quoting passages from his autobiography. For those who don’t know, Representative Bob Sikes set the standard for all of us who have followed him in service to this district. Without him, there would be little to no military stationed in the panhandle.
Bob was a giant among his peers, and I want to invite you all to visit his museum to learn about the history of this area and him. I am honored to be the current tenant of his former office in Crestview and want to thank Dr. Stephenson, J. Wren Supak, and all the folks at Northwest Florida State College who have made this possible.
REP. GAETZ SLAMS BIDEN’S LAWLESS MASS AMNESTY PLAN
On Wednesday, I joined the Joe Pags Show to discuss how the Biden Administration's policies have directly caused the crisis on our southern border. Joe Biden’s plan to provide amnesty for 500,000 undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens is his latest lawless action, which has no constitutional footing. He is trying to virtue signal to the 10 million illegal aliens in this country that he will ensure they benefit from their unlawful activity at the expense of the rest of us.
TEAM GAETZ ATTENDS VETERANS TOWN HALL IN PENSACOLA
My team was honored to participate in the Veteran Town Hall on Thursday at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Almost 250 veterans were afforded the opportunity to meet the local departments within the Veterans Health Administration, ranging from enrollment to anger management.
The Gulf Coast VA leadership spoke about how they are improving in the areas of recruiting doctors, telecommunications, scheduling, and online services, in addition to developing new VA clinics in Milton and Crestview. We look forward to working with Dr. Repasky and her team to continue the improvement of service and expanding access for all our veterans.

Exclusive — Reps. Matt Gaetz, Thomas Massie Propose to Scrap ‘Regressive’ Taxes on Tips
“Gaetz and Massie introduced the Tax Free Tips Act to provide financial relief to service industry workers by scrapping federal income and employment taxes on tips. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) cosponsored the bill... Gaetz said eliminating taxes on tips would help those suffering from historic levels of inflation under Biden, or Bidenflation, while Massie argued that taxing tips is regressive, or that it harms Americans who make less.”

GOP Lawmakers Unveil Bill To Nix Federal Taxes On Tips After Trump Promoted The Idea
“A pair of House Republicans introduced legislation on Tuesday that would slash federal taxes on tips after former President Donald Trump promoted the idea earlier this month. The bill, spearheaded by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL), would ‘amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide that tips shall not be subject to income or employment taxes. It takes inspiration and its name — the ‘Tax Free Tips Act’ — from a legislative push by Ron Paul, a former congressman and candidate for president, to nix federal taxation on tips.”

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz Calls For GOP House Leaders To Reverse “Illegitimate” Work Of J6 Committee
“Rep. Matt Gaetz on Wednesday called for Congress to reverse the work of the ‘illegitimate’ Democratic House committee that looked into the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021... Gaetz argued this could apply to former Trump advisers Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon, both of whom were sentenced to four months in prison for defying subpoenas issued by the J6 committee. ‘The January 6 Committee was illegitimate for a variety of reasons,’ Gaetz said. ‘But we have learned new things during Republican control of the House that I think compels us to remediate the constitutional infirmities that were borne upon the country by the January 6 Committee.’”

Congressman Gaetz tours One Hopeful Place in Fort Walton Beach, praises progress and success rate
“During the lengthy tour, Gaetz engaged with every resident he came across, inquiring about their backgrounds and the circumstances that led them to One Hopeful Place. The congressman expressed amazement at the facility’s growth and impact since his last visit. ‘When Ted had this vision, my first thought was that almost anything would have made the blighted property better,’ Gaetz said, recalling his initial impression of the project. ‘And thanks to our former Fort Walton Beach Mayor Mike Anderson and Ted Corcoran, we’ve used this as a platform for hope now. And it’s a remarkable thing.’”
