Hi folks, it’s DGA Chair and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. I’m emailing today because we’re days away from the second anniversary of Donald Trump’s 6-3 Supreme Court Majority overturning Roe v. Wade. Since June 24, 2022, reproductive freedom has been under attack from the far-right – and it’s been on the ballot. Now Republicans across the country are showing us it’s on the ballot again in 2024.

The DGA Digital Team has told me you are a top grassroots supporter, so before I continue, I wanted to extend a special invitation your way. When Roe was overturned and the constitutional right to an abortion was in crisis, I promised we would not turn back the clock on reproductive rights in Minnesota as long as I remained in office. Last year, we delivered on that promise and made Minnesota the first state in the country to codify abortion rights into law since the devastating Dobbs decision.

As long as I’m governor, Minnesota will continue to be a beacon of reproductive freedom. I will fight to ensure Minnesotans are able to get the care they need no matter what, and I will continue to deliver on my promise to protect your rights – not take them away. But this is something that every American – regardless of their state – deserves to have protections over.

Republicans may want you to think they’ll stop at overturning Roe, but their actions say otherwise. Make no mistake: Abortion rights, IVF, and even contraception are on the ballot this November, and we can’t stop fighting for them. Fortunately, Democratic governors like myself are delivering on protecting and expanding reproductive rights everywhere we can. But we can’t do it alone.

We need input from grassroots supporters – folks like you who are on the ground and facing these issues head on – so we can better strengthen our fight.
