July is Park & Recreation Month
This Park and Recreation Month, we are celebrating the vital role park and recreation professionals play in fostering a sense of belonging in their communities by providing welcoming and inclusive programs, essential services for all ages and abilities, and safe, accessible spaces to build meaningful connection.

North Texans Must Look Out for One Another to Bike, Walk, and Drive Safely
As the summer season approaches, more North Texans are likely to take advantage of the nice weather by traveling by foot or bike. No matter how you travel, North Central Texas Council of Governments and partner local agencies want to remind North Texans to Look Out for another. We all have the right to use the roadway, but we must make sure we are acting responsibly to keep ourselves and fellow North Texans safe. The person traveling by walking or bicycling could be someone’s family, friend, or neighbor. One moment of unsafe behavior could have a lifetime effect. Tarrant County Wants Your Input on Housing, Neighborhood Issues
Tarrant County wants your help! The County is looking for input from you about housing and other neighborhood issues that will help shape future housing and community development plans for our area. Take the online community survey by clicking the button below. The survey will take 5 to 7 minutes to complete and all answers will be confidential. The survey will close on July 31.

The Annual City of Hurst Stars & Stripes event is Wednesday, July 3, at Hurst Community Park. Come out to enjoy live music, food trucks, a kid's area, and a beautiful fireworks show! FREE shuttles are available from designated parking at North East Mall. Just a friendly reminder... our water booth and some food vendors only accept cash on the event day. We recommend you bring cash with you as there is no ATM on-site.

July 4th Holiday Closure
Non-emergency city facilities are closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Garbage and recycling will run on a normal schedule. Chisholm Aquatics Center is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
