Friend, I have a quick story for you. Well, two quick stories:
When I was first running for office, a lawmaker told me that I couldn’t make a difference because I was “just a mom in tennis shoes.”
Well, this mom in tennis shoes beat the odds and won a U.S. Senate seat — part of a watershed year for women in Congress.
Decades later, a political operative told Emily Randall that “a queer Latina who worked for Planned Parenthood” would be “too much” for her swing district.
We know how that turned out! Emily won an upset victory by 102 votes, flipped a seat from red to blue, and made history as one of the first LGBTQ+ members of the State Senate.
The next Congress will face tough challenges. But I’m supporting Emily because she has shown time and time again that she has the grit, work ethic, and tenacity to overcome obstacles and get big things done for her community.
Emily’s campaign has nine days until the end-of-quarter fundraising deadline. We’re in the final sprint to the primary election, and we’re running out of time to reach every voter in Washington’s 6th Congressional District. I’m asking, friend: Can you make a contribution to Emily’s campaign and mine today?
Because of the top-two primary, Emily’s anti-abortion Republican opponent will almost certainly advance to the general election.
To defeat MAGA Republicans and hold this open House seat for Democrats, we MUST make sure Emily is in the first or second spot in the August 6 primary.
I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t extremely important: Please chip in $10 or any amount to help Emily Randall and I beat the odds and make history — again! →
Thank you so much,
