John,
Just like the heatwave hitting Connecticut, our race for the 5th Congressional District is heating up FAST! The political temperature is rising, and all eyes are on us as we fight to flip this seat RED.
I've been traveling all over the district, meeting incredible people like you, hearing your stories, and sharing our vision for sensible, experienced, reliable leadership. With the stakes higher than ever, every conversation and every handshake counts.
So, as we brace for the scorching weather, let’s also turn up the heat on our campaign. Together, we can bring the heat and #FlipTheFifth!

"It was another day of record-breaking heat as a heat wave continued on Thursday.
The temperature at Bradley Airport reached 98 degrees on Thursday. The old record was 97, set in 2012.
Friday will be mostly sunny and it will still be pretty hot and humid. There will also be a better chance of thunderstorms.
On Saturday, the weather will be more of the same, but with highs in the upper 80s and scattered thunder."

"HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut’s top-ranking Republicans called on Gov. Ned Lamont to create a new state commission focused on the security of the absentee ballot process.
The calls come on the heels of four arrests in Bridgeport related to alleged conduct in the city’s 2019 Democratic mayoral primary. The four defendants are charged with illegally possessing other voters’ absentee ballots, charges that Republicans point to as illustrating a broader problem with the conduct of elections in Connecticut’s largest city.
'It is truly embarrassing for our state. We’ve made national news once again,”'said State Senator Steven Harding, the Republican leader in the State Senate."

"Just a few months ago, a groundbreaking interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur revealed that Joe Biden is an 'elderly man with a poor memory' who 'did not remember when he was vice president.'
Attorney General Merrick Garland has refused to comply with subpoenas to review the tapes of Joe Biden’s interview with the Special Counsel, and extreme House Democrat Jahana Hayes just refused to hold Garland in contempt.
When will Jahana Hayes stop covering up for Joe Biden and his lack of fitness for office?
'The American people want transparency, but Jahana Hayes and extreme House Democrats are doing all they can to pledge their allegiance to Joe Biden and cover up his messy tracks. When will they stop covering for the fact Biden is unfit to serve?' – NRCC Spokeswoman Savannah Viar"

"Eight men from Tajikistan with potential ties to ISIS out of central Asia were arrested over the weekend in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles, three people familiar with the matter told NBC News on Tuesday.
The suspects had been on the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force radar and were arrested by personnel with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE, the sources say.
All eight men crossed through the southern border into the U.S., and their criminal backgrounds checks came back clean when they crossed, say two officials familiar with the matter.
At least two of the men crossed the border in spring 2023, and one of those men used the CBP One app, which the Biden administration created to allow migrants to book appointments to claim asylum, those officials say. "

"Willie Mays, a generational baseball player known as the 'Say Hey Kid', has died at 93. He was considered by many to be the greatest all-around baseball player in history.
Mays' Hall-of-Fame career spanned more than two decades, from the 1950s to 1970s. He spent nearly all of those years with the Giants – first in New York and then in San Francisco. He was named to the All-Star team 24 times and won National League Most Valuable Player awards in 1954 and 1965."
