Dear John,
Another week in the books – we've been as busy as ever, so I’m excited to share some updates with you all.
Late last week, we got some great news: my push to block a pay raise for Congress was successful. I truly believe that Congress needs to be reformed in order to function properly, and until we can work together to deliver for the American people, we do not deserve a raise on the taxpayer’s dime. I have led the charge against pay raises for Congress for years, and last week the House scrapped plans for a raise yet again. I will continue to fight to lower costs for working families and spend taxpayer dollars responsibly at the same time.
In other news, this week I got to spend time meeting with constituents around the Second District.
Today I had my 66th town hall since taking office. I love hearing from constituents and answering your questions about my work in Congress. This month I was joined by Hastings Mayor Mary Fasbender, and we spoke about lowering costs, water quality, and the importance of bipartisanship. My town halls give me an opportunity to hear directly from Minnesotans about the issues on their minds, and I’ll keep working across the aisle to get results for you.
Here’s what else I was up to this week:
Visiting the Abria Recovery Center
On Thursday I visited Abria Recovery in Burnsville to get firsthand insight into the addiction-related challenges facing Minnesota communities. I enjoyed meeting with their talented team and hearing about their dedication towards helping people on their recovery journeys.
I’ll keep working in Congress to expand access to substance use disorder recovery tools & resources for the folks who need them.
Hearing from constituents in Eagan
Great to join Thomson Reuters at their Eagan facility for a chance to connect with their Pride at Work Network & discuss how we can work together to promote diversity and equity within businesses.
Celebrating MN-02’s Teacher of the Year Nominees
I also joined the nominees for Education Minnesota’s Teacher of the Year Award to congratulate them on this huge achievement & thank them for the dedication and care they show our students as they prepare them for success in the classroom & beyond.

It’s a busy season for visitors in D.C. and my office is here to help! My office helps 2nd district residents get tours for the Capitol Building and other unique D.C. experiences. I love seeing familiar faces when I am working, so be sure to stop by my office. Go to my website here to schedule your tour.
Until next time,
