Friends,
Rep. Steve Chabot from Ohio’s 1st District has taken over $2 million from big corporate interests in finance and real estate and voted to deregulate big banks and weaken consumer protections. He hired his own son-in-law as a campaign consultant and funneled him over $150,000 for “web consulting.” And Steve voted to strip healthcare coverage from over 500,000 Ohioans, including 35,000 people in his own district. Sound familiar?
It does to Nikki Foster, and that’s why she’s running to beat him. Nikki is the daughter of immigrants and the first in her family to graduate from college. She flew 217 combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan for the Air Force. Now, Nikki volunteers in her spare time to help counsel veterans transitioning back into the civilian workforce -- and fights to protect healthcare access and secure necessary campaign finance reform in Congress.
Steve is part of what’s wrong with America. Nikki’s part of what’s right. And this race is winnable: in 2018, Steve won with only 51.3% of the vote.
Flipping this key district is within our reach, and the payoff for our common cause would be huge -- we can protect and grow our House majority by electing someone who dedicates her time to helping others, not someone dedicated to lining his pockets.
But it won’t be easy. Steve has already raised over $1.5 million with the help of his corporate PAC donors this election cycle to spend against Nikki. So we need to know where you stand today:
Should we protect the House majority by electing Nikki Foster?
