105,000! That's how many additional acres are now part of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument as a result of President Biden’s executive order.
This was a momentous achievement for Angelenos. Thanks to the decades-long advocacy of a vibrant and diverse coalition of indigenous leaders, community activists, and nature-lovers across Southern California, together we are protecting more of this national treasure in our backyard.

I am happy to announce that my office worked with local leaders to secure over $17.8 million in 2024 federal funding for California's 28th district — investments in affordable housing, improving water quality, workforce training, and so many other crucial projects.

This past May was filled with celebrations for America's Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
As the first Chinese American woman elected to Congress, it is always an honor to celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month with everyone in the San Gabriel Valley and across the country. It was a privilege to honor the rich history, diverse cultures, and significant contributions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders to the American story.
A few weekends ago, we commemorated the Veterans who lost their lives in service to our country on Memorial Day. It is always so important to honor and remember the brave servicemembers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I had the privilege to attend several Memorial Day events all over the San Gabriel Valley including in La Crescenta-Montrose, San Marino, Monrovia, and La Cañada Flintridge. On June 15th, I joined Rep. Grace Napolitano to host a Veteran Services Clinic in Azusa, where we brought federal, state, and local resources directly to Veterans so that we could help them file new claims with the VA for service connected disabilities, obtain resources for housing and education benefits, learn about military burial benefits, get support with job training, and sign up for health benefits. Ensuring that Veterans receive the help and benefits they deserve is incredibly important.
Please contact my office if you have issues with the VA or need to know what local resources are available to Veterans for everything from health care to starting or growing a small business.
If you and your loved ones have exciting summer travel plans, make sure your passport is up to date! My office is here to help.

Pride Month is a time to celebrate who you are and encourage everyone to live authentically. As a Vice Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus, I'm committed to elevating LGBTQI+ history. This month & every month I pledge to continue the fight for equality. It's always so much fun to partake in all the different Pride activities around the San Gabriel Valley.
Every year it's an honor to host my Artistic Discovery Congressional Art Competition where emerging high school artists can show their artistic talent to the nation.
I am especially delighted to highlight our winner this year, Tiffany To, for her remarkable piece, "Year of the Rabbit 2023."
The painting pays tribute to the 11 members of our community we tragically lost last year in the heinous attack on Star Dance Studio on the eve of Lunar New Year.
