Robertson County Town Hall

Congressman Sessions addresses the town hall

On Saturday, I had the privilege of hosting a town hall in Robertson County, where we engaged in meaningful discussions about the issues affecting our community, our nation, and the world. The solutions to America’s problems originate from the local level, and town halls are essential for fostering this dialogue. Thank you to all who came out and participated. I enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing local leaders including Mayor of Calvert Layla Wright, Robertson County Sheriff Gerald Yezak, Robertson County Sheriff Elect Bill Ruland, Mayor of Bremond Rick Swick, Robertson County Judge Joe D. Scarpinato, and Milam County Judge Bill Whitmire.

Supporting Our Neighbors in Need

In the intense Texas heat, access to cooling can mean the difference between life and death. That’s why I participated in the Salvation Army’s “Biggest Fans” fan drive again this year. Community donors including TXU Energy and Walmart joined me in donating fans to the Salvation Army Family Thrift Store. I commend their commitment to aiding our neighbors in all circumstances. If you would like to get involved, please consider donating box fans at the Salvation Army Family Thrift Store located at 4721 W. Waco Drive.

Celebrating Community Leadership

Congressman Sessions presents a scholarship and flag that has flown over the Capitol to Caden Hughes
This week, I spoke at a handful of events across Texas’s 17th Congressional District. In Limestone County, I was honored to present a scholarship from the Thornton Ex-Students Association to a deserving young man, Caden Hughes, who has deep roots in the community. Caden will be attending the University of Texas at Tyler to pursue a degree in nursing. Although Thornton High School closed its doors in 1961, the surrounding community continues to demonstrate a commitment to education through their annual scholarship fund.

In Waco, I addressed this year’s cohort of Leadership Waco at the Federal Courthouse. This program unites individuals from all corners of the Waco community that are eager to solve local problems through informed engagement. I applauded these students for their remarkable passion and underscored the vital importance of active civic engagement.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to making our community strong. Your involvement in roles both elected and unelected truly makes a difference.
