Race for Life

Help raise money for Cancer Research UK by taking part in the 5k or 10k Race for Life events this Sunday. Online entries are still open, or participants can sign up on the day if there is capacity.
You can walk, run, or jog the routes, giving people the chance to come together with their family and friends and join the movement to beat cancer.
For runners seeking their next challenge or feeling inspired by Race for Life, why not sign up for the Robin Hood Half or Mini Marathon around the city centre on Sunday 29 September?
Cancer Research UK are a headline partner, alongside other great local charities including Our Dementia Choir, Emmanuel House, Maggie's and Frameworks. See all the charity partners here.

Experience a taste of Thailand with the two-day Magic of Thailand festival at the Forest Recreation Ground this weekend.
Beginning with a traditional food offering to Buddhist monks, you can enjoy entertainment throughout the weekend including music and dancing, Muay Thai boxing, Ladyboy shows, a beer garden, food and produce stalls, Thai massages and a children's play area.

Starring Shawna Hamic (Orange is the New Black, 1776 on Broadway) as Ursula and River Medway (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK) as Ariel, Unfortunate is coming to Nottingham and things are gonna get wet!
Join everyone’s favourite Disney Diva, Ursula, as she gives her take on what really happened all those years ago under the sea. With an original hot pop soundtrack and trademark filthy humour, it’s time to take the plunge and dive into this year’s hottest night out.
Sound at Central: Black British Ballet

As part of Nottingham Central Library's monthly music and performance event, Sound at Central, Black British Ballet perform their Windrush-inspired piece 'Island Movements'.
Also joining the line-up are genre-blurring jazz quartet The Jazz Bastrds, and Jamcafé DJs Bradley Jam and Hemulen.
This is a standing gig (with ad-hoc seating for those who need it) and tickets are £10. The licensed bar will be open from 7pm selling a range of drinks and snacks.

Join the Brazilian Cultural Centre for Festa Junina, the festival of St John’s, which is Brazil’s second-largest celebration after carnival.
The exciting line-up features live performances by the Tia Ciata Band, Zagotinho do Acordeao, and Forró & Chips, all of whom bring original sounds and rhythms from Brazil. You can also enjoy family-friendly activities, food stalls, and opportunities to dance and soak up the atmosphere.

Celebrate the International Day of Yoga at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park. There will be wellbeing and yoga sessions throughout the day, along with healthy food stalls and activities.
Tickets are just £1 per person (plus booking fee) and you can book for either the morning or afternoon session.
