Make a difference and help refugees on the world refugee day

Dear John,

Imagine fleeing everything you know - your home, your family's belongings, the life you’ve built. This is the harsh reality for the more than 120 million forcibly displaced people worldwide.

As we observe World Refugee Day 💙, we are reminded of the resilience and strength of refugees everywhere. Thanks to your support, UNHCR has been able to assist countless refugees and returnees, such as Faqir and his family.

To help them return home and give them a fresh start, Faqir’s family received essential resources like a cow and five chickens. Because of this, Faqir’s family was able to create more opportunities for themselves. With a popcorn maker and a sewing machine, to help them create livelihoods and live in dignity.

World Refugee Day 💙 is a time to honour the courage of refugees and recognize the ongoing work that needs to be done. Over the years, UNHCR has supported refugees returning under various challenging circumstances. We work closely with governments and communities to ensure a safe and dignified return. This includes:

  • Security assessments: We verify the safety and stability of return areas.
  • Reintegration assistance: We provide refugees with shelter, food, and healthcare upon their return.
  • Livelihood support: We help refugees rebuild their homes and businesses.

On this World Refugee Day 💙, please donate and give refugees like Faqir and his family the chance to heal and rebuild their lives. Your support can make a world of difference.
