Did you see the news? First, the Right Wing Supreme Court struck down a Trump-era ban on bump stocks for guns. Then, Senate Republicans blocked bipartisan legislation that would have outlawed these rapid-fire gun accessories.

In the deadliest mass shooting in American history, bump stocks were used by the shooter to inflict even more death, pain, and chaos in Las Vegas than would have been possible otherwise in such a short amount of time.

The Justice Department responded by banning bump stocks: a small step forward compared to passing comprehensive gun safety legislation, but a step forward nonetheless. Democrats and Republicans alike supported the ban at the time.

Now, the right-wing Supreme Court has taken matters into their own hands, and shown us that we must continue to fight to pass common sense gun reforms in Congress if we want to keep our families and communities safe. And Senate Republicans backed by the NRA have shown us yet again they’ll do anything and everything in their power to stop our efforts.
