Dear Friend,
If you're still considering your Giving Day gift, please consider how much it will help pets like Penguin, Puffin, and Leela.
Leela was at Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC), the city impoundment facility, when she went into labor and tragedy struck. A pup got stuck in her birth canal, and she needed an emergency C-section, or Leela and her litter would die. Like too many other pets, PAWS was their last hope.
We rushed a rescue team to CACC to retrieve Leela and quickly brought her to our Medical Center for an emergency C-section.

Leela's puppies—Melissa, Castro, Rosio, and Yacker, named after the PAWS staff members who saved their lives—gained their strength in a loving foster home, exploring their world, wrestling with each other, napping together in little furry piles, and of course, learning a lot from their fantastic mom.
Leela and her pups are thriving, but our work is not done. So many dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens are waiting for rescue at the city pound. Without our help, many will not make it out.
Our friends Denny and Sandy Cummings have already risen to the occasion, adding $10,000 to our matching gift challenge, making it $45,000!
On this Giving Day, please give now to DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT and help us build a No Kill Chicago.
