Trails challenge continues across state

Where will your summer adventures take you? How about trekking along a gorgeous Nebraska trail?

Your Parks Adventure continues through Oct. 31, giving you the opportunity to explore more than 45 designated trail locations across the state. Find the selfie stations at each and submit your photo online for a chance at prizes, including outdoor gear and a two-night cabin stay.

Game and Parks to consider 2025 mountain lion season

Nebraska Game and Parks will consider recommendations for a 2025 mountain lion hunting season at its June 21 meeting in Ogallala. The meeting begins at 8 a.m. Mountain time at the Petrified Wood Gallery, 418 E. 1st St. For the first time, a hunting season will be proposed for mountain lions in the Wildcat Hills.

Paddlefish snagging permits accepted July 1-14

Applications for paddlefish snagging permits will be accepted by Nebraska Game and Parks from July 1-14.

The application period opens at 1 p.m. Central time July 1. Mail applications must be received by Game and Parks’ Lincoln office by 5 p.m. Central on July 14, while online applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. Central on July 14.
