 If you’re anything like me, you probably have tons of unread emails from Democratic campaigns asking for your support. So, first of all, thanks for clicking on this email. And second, I know that with lots of different candidates vying for your help, it’s on me to provide you with a good reason for why my campaign, specifically, is worth your time and investment. But instead of one good reason, I’m going to provide you with five. 1) I’ve gotten a heck of a lot done during my time in Congress. To name a few things: lower insulin costs for seniors, thousands of good-paying clean-energy jobs here in Kansas, investments in our agriculture sector, and bipartisan action to reduce gun violence. 2) We’re facing off against one of the most extreme state Republican parties in the nation. I’m the only Democratic representative for Kansas at the federal level, and the state GOP is determined to replace me with someone who supports their extremist platform, which calls for banning abortion, IVF, and same-sex marriage, and blocking Medicaid access. 3) There aren’t a lot of members of Congress with my sort of background. In fact, as an openly LGBTQ+ Native American woman who was raised by a single mom and paid her own way through school, I think it’s fair to say there aren’t any. 4) I’m proudly using my voice to fight for our values. I’m fighting to support struggling families who are working so hard just to barely make ends meet. And I’m fighting to protect abortion rights, our democracy, our environment, and our fundamental freedoms from extremist attacks. 5) GOP Super PACs are already running digital ads attacking me. It’s only a matter of time before they start running TV ads as well. We can’t let them use misleading attacks to define me.
