From Source to Tap
September 25-26
Suburban Collection Showplace, Novi, Michigan
In 1974, the Safe Drinking Water Act set standards for drinking water suppliers, service, and quality, leaving a clearly identifiable, positive impact on Great Lakes communities over the past five decades. Drinking water professionals, communities, and suppliers strive every day to ensure that the water we drink is protected at the source and safe to drink at the tap.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is hosting the Great Lakes Drinking Water Conference in Novi, Michigan, this September. This event is a unique opportunity to reflect on the remarkable achievements and challenges of the past five decades while exploring the exciting possibilities for the future of drinking water quality. Featuring case studies, cutting-edge research, and invaluable lessons learned, this conference will cover crucial topics such as source water protection, drinking water system operations, and visionary plans for the next 50 years to protect and enhance drinking water quality for future generations.
The conference intends to bring together professionals, including community water supply personnel, local officials, community representatives, partners from the local, state, and federal levels, academia, consultants, service providers, source water protection partners, and others from the Great Lakes region. We invite you to join us in celebrating past achievements and to be part of the conversation that will shape the next 50 years of progress and innovation.
