It’s Rita Hart, Iowa Democratic Party Chair.
Did you know 90,000 registered Iowa Democrats didn’t vote in the last election? Some statewide Democrats lost by just 20,000 votes.
This is a HUGE problem, but have no fear–the Iowa Democratic Party is here! And it’s up to us to turn things around.
Let me introduce you to our “Mandate for Change” . Here’s what it includes:
🤝 Strengthening teamwork. We are strengthening our county parties and improving communication between grassroots activists and the state party.
🌳 Establishing deep roots. We are engaging our communities and organizing year-round (not just the days leading up to an election) so folks know exactly how Democrats are fighting for them.
📣 Getting loud. We’re holding Gov. Kim Reynolds and Iowa Republicans accountable for their attacks on working people and making sure voters know where their elected leaders stand.
📈 Improving efficiency. We’re improving campaign data and technology so our candidates can use their time and resources wisely.
💰 Securing resources. We’re rebuilding our fundraising network and hosting events in every corner of the state (not just Des Moines) so we’re able to engage more Democrats to fully fund our programs.
As you can see, we have a strong plan to improve Democratic turnout and do better with persuadable voters.
