Happy Pride Month, team!
Earlier this month, Gov. Kathy Hochul designated June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month — a time to uplift and celebrate our friends, family, and neighbors in the LGBTQ+ community.
As she said in her proclamation,
“New Yorkers of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions deserve to be safe, heard and valued. The State of New York stands with and supports the LGBTQ+ community .”
Gov. Hochul ran on the campaign promise to make New York the best state to work, live, and raise a family — and that includes members of the LGBTQ+ community.
That’s why she’s made it a priority to support LGBTQ+ New Yorkers, including signing legislation to make our state a safe haven for LGBTQ+ youth and securing investments in housing and mental health care for LGBTQ+ community members.
The unfortunate reality is that states across the U.S. are continuing to attack the rights of LGBTQ+ people. More than 500 anti-LGBTQ+ laws have been introduced in the United States this year alone by right-wing legislators.
That’s why Gov. Hochul’s unabashed support of the LGBTQ+ community and her continued work to protect the rights and freedoms of these communities are so important.
Team, Gov. Kathy Hochul is hard at work making New York a safe, welcoming state for everyone — no matter how they identify themselves or who they love. Please chip in to make sure she can keep up these efforts, especially as right-wing attacks on the LGBTQ+ community continue. [[link removed]]
