Solidarity with people in debt

Hi friend,

Did you see my email last week? With the election in just two weeks, we want to make sure as many MP candidates as possible hear the demands of people in debt.

There's still time for you to write to your MP candidates and demand they speak up to challenge unjust debt building up in UK households.
I’ll write to my MP candidates ([link removed])

You can read the original email below. Thank you for taking action with us.

In solidarity,

Joe, Skye, Zak, and all at Debt Justice

Hi friend,

Can you believe that in less than a month the UK could have a new government? This campaign period is passing fast and still no political parties have addressed the household debt crisis.

friend, let’s change that. Will you write to your MP candidates ([link removed]) and demand they speak up for people in debt? The more of us that act, the greater our influence on our future MPs will be.
Yes, I’ll write to my MP candidates ([link removed])

Right now, 10 million people in the UK are heavily weighed down by debt and many of us are being forced to make the kind of stark financial choices that no-one should have to make – like whether to fall behind on essential bills or put food on the table.

We’re in a debt crisis, where paying for the basic essentials can be all it takes to get trapped in debt.

This has to change! Whoever gets in at the next election must take serious action or people will be saddled with debt for years to come.

That’s why, over the last year, people all over the country have shared their experiences of being in debt. From how stressful and damaging it can be, to what the government can really do to tackle the crisis.

Our Together Against Debt People’s Manifesto ([link removed]) lays out the top priorities, so whoever gets elected has a ready-made plan available to tackle this crisis.

friend, will you write to your MP candidates ([link removed]) to make sure they put debt on their agenda?
Write to your MP candidates here ([link removed])

Two weeks ago, we handed in the Together Against Debt People’s Manifesto – signed by thousands of you – to all party headquarters. So they have no excuse not to act.

Will you now message your candidates and get them to stand with people in debt? The more of us that take action, the more likely we can see change.

In solidarity,

Joe, Skye, Zak, and all at Debt Justice

P.S The database of MP candidates that we are using is growing day by day. If you spot that one of yours is currently not on the list of people to email, then you can help change that by adding them here ([link removed]) as we want to make sure we pressure all candidates, thank you!
