Sign the Card for Wish Kids With Cancer in Honor of National Cancer Survivors Day. Every day, 47 more kids are diagnosed with cancer – a diagnosis that no child or parent is ever prepared to hear. As these kids navigate a childhood filled with hospital stays, chemotherapy, radiation treatments and surgeries, we put together a special card to send them strength and encouragement. Wish Spotlight: “Everything is my favorite!” – Abby, Wish Kid. While 8-year-old Abby was undergoing cancer treatments, she spent much of the time feeling sick and weak – often with rags and a bucket next to her. So when her wish for a garden-themed playhouse came true, it gave her not only a crucial piece of her childhood back but also plenty of opportunities for summer fun. The playhouse was outfitted with beds perfect for sleepovers for Abby and her sister, a snack area with her very own cooler and, of course, a tea set for tea parties. Abby’s wish – and so many others just like hers – simply wouldn’t have been possible without your support.
