Kansas Drive to Zero: Speed Management and User Separation to Increase Safety

Don't forget to sign up for the upcoming Walk Bike Roll online session to learn about speed management and separation between modes.

Join KDOT State Highway Safety Engineer Haley Dougherty and Aaron Boehmler from Burns and McDonnell to learn about Kansas Drive to Zero efforts, the statewide Vulnerable Road User Assessment and Tool, and safety corridors in Kansas.

In this session, you will also learn more about design tools and resources for your community to make roadways safer and more comfortable for all users.

DETAC Announces New Resources on Employer Engagement and Outreach

As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s historic Olmstead v. L.C. decision, we recognize employment as a critical component of community inclusion. The Disability Employment TA Center (DETAC) partnered with Jonathan Taylor, Executive Director of the Arkansas Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities on a podcast and accompanying brief focused on strategies for employer engagement and outreach to advance competitive, integrated employment and economic outcomes for people with disabilities. National Community of Practice (CoP) Webinar

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 3:00-4:00PM ET, join the Administration on Disabilities (AoD) Disability Employment Technical Assistance Center (DETAC) for our July 2024 National CoP webinar, Job Accommodations Make a Difference: Data Points and Implications.

During the month of July, we celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It is often said that good data provides indisputable evidence. A panel of researchers from the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) on Employment for People with Physical Disabilities will share insightful data on how providing job accommodations for people with disabilities does make a difference to perform their job duties and enjoy equal employment opportunities. Presenters will highlight their current research projects and latest observations that will support grantees, federal and state policymakers, job seekers with disabilities, and employers to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities.
