Save Animals from Extreme Confinement PROTECT PROP 12 ([link removed])

Friend,

I want you to imagine the extreme suffering that big industrial agribusiness inflicts on mother pigs and other helpless animals. Then, I hope you will help our team fight back against attempts to nullify state level animal welfare laws like Prop 12—our nation’s strongest farm animal protection law—and power all of our work to protect animals by making a donation today. We must meet our $30,000 end-of-quarter goal by midnight on June 30! ([link removed])

Confined to gestation crates too small to turn around in, pregnant pigs develop multiple health problems: painful foot and leg conditions from the inability to move, infections from being left in their own filth and stress-induced higher risks of disease transmission. In addition to this physical suffering, mother pigs endure psychological torment from their extreme caging. The well-documented intelligence of these animals makes their confinement even more devastating to endure.

Right now, a small segment of the pork industry and their allies in Congress are trying to use the Farm Bill to obliterate important animal welfare laws like Prop 12 that are making them shift away from the bottom-scraping practices of industrial-scale cruelty. Millions of American voters have rejected the cruelty of intensive animal confinement at the ballot box, and yet these producers remain committed to eliminating the state laws driving this crucial change.

That’s why the Humane Society Legislative Fund is fighting hard to stop this dangerous language in the Farm Bill from advancing any further. We’re working with lawmakers to resist industry lobbyists and put animal welfare above corporate profits. But we can’t do this urgent work without you. Please make a contribution of $20 or more to HSLF to protect Prop 12, save millions of animals from unbearable suffering and power all of our work to help animals! ([link removed])

Thank you for being a part of this important fight,
