The residents of the Four Mile Run section of Greenfield carry troubling flood memories.

The neighborhood sits in a valley above a combined sewer and stormwater line that can’t handle the volume during heavy rain, leading to severe flash floods.

While it has been a few years since stormwater has overwhelmed the pipes, residents can’t help but wonder whether the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority will finish its planned improvements before climate change brings the next flood.
