I am reaching out myself to ask a favour of you.

John xxxxxx - I am reaching out myself to ask a favour of you.

I became General Secretary in May 2020, a few months after our worst defeat in 80 years. Our party was in the wilderness and we faced the possibility of a prolonged period of powerlessness. Keir's leadership changed our party politically, placing it back in the service of working people. So, I committed there and then to give my all in matching that political change with the organisational change we needed.

That’s why Labour has thrown out that old playbook that failed us. This time, we’re running a new, strategic, mass mobilisation campaign that has what it takes to win. So far, our plan is working.

But this is a significant undertaking. To kick out the Tories and elect a Labour government will require the largest swing since WWII. It’s not cheap to organise in this many seats and make sure voters all hear that we understand their hopes and want to deliver the change they desperately need.

I’m grateful for this team. The outpouring of support means the world to me. I sincerely mean it, and I hope you know that I do not make these asks lightly.

We cannot slow down or falter now, so please:

I am personally asking you to make your first online donation of the campaign today. I will make sure that every pound is immediately invested in the most important battleground seats that we need to win.

Look, I don’t expect people to give every time we ask. But my hope is you take this request as an indication of just how important your support is. What I am counting on is that supporters like you will donate when it makes sense for your budget.

With your support, our campaign will reach and mobilise voters in every corner of Britain. Together, we can bring new leadership to Number 10 with Keir and a Labour government.

So if you are able to make a contribution today, please click here. It would mean a lot to me personally.

Yours faithfully,

David
