Team, I wish I was writing under better circumstances.

My fundraising team just briefed me on our numbers. We missed our monthly goals twice in a row — in both April and May. I told everyone we shouldn’t worry about it, because this team always shows up when we need them. But we’re in the final stretch to one of the last, official FEC deadlines of this campaign right now, and we are still tracking behind our goal.

If we don’t make up some ground fast we will miss again.

Now, I can’t make heads or tails of it. I don’t know why things have slowed down so much, but if we miss another goal before a critical FEC deadline we are going to have to take a long, hard look at what we’re capable of doing with a reduced budget.

Missing these goals hurts our ability to win — and we really need to win in Arizona. The alternative is… well, let’s just hope we can win.

The good news is that lots of people are chipping in right now, and when that happens your donations start to add up fast.
