Happy Juneteenth, friend!
Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last of enslaved Black Americans in Texas first learned of the Emancipation Proclamation – more than two years after it was issued.
Since then, the anniversary has been a time to celebrate liberation, honor Black ancestors, and recognize the work that still needs to be done to support and elevate Black Americans in our communities.
At WisDems, we’re celebrating the liberation of Black people and uplifting their contributions to a greater nation. Friend, we want to invite you to join us by plugging into our Black Coalitions work and supporting our efforts to support Black candidates and engage Black communities across Wisconsin.
The work to end racial injustice is far from over and we need your help to fight back.
So friend, will you support our Black Coalition by signing up to join their list of supporters? »
Thank you, friend.
Happy Juneteenth,
WisDems
