Memorial Day is just around the corner, and our hearts here at the USO are filled with reverence and gratitude for all the brave service members who have sacrificed so much in service to our nation. For many of us, Memorial Day holds profound personal significance — a time to reflect, remember and honor the heroes in uniform who have touched our lives and shaped our country.

It's more than a holiday. Memorial Day is also a solemn reminder of the countless soldiers who have given their lives for our freedom. From the beaches of Normandy to the deserts of the Middle East and the events in Jordan earlier this year — we honor the courage and sacrifice of all our fallen heroes.

For decades, the USO has stood alongside our military community, providing support and solace on Memorial Day, and every day of the year. At USO Delaware, we have the profound privilege of supporting grieving families during dignified transfers as their fallen loved ones return home to American soil. Our caring staff and volunteers provide assistance to these Families of the Fallen — also known as Gold Star Families — on their travels to Dover Air Force Base and upon their arrival. It's a responsibility we hold with the utmost reverence.

This Memorial Day, we encourage you to honor a friend or family member who has served or is currently serving in the military. Simply write the service member's name in the marked box when you submit your donation, and we'll make sure your gift is attached to their name and their bravery is honored.

Make a Gift in Honor of a Loved One
Your contribution will not only honor your loved one, it will also directly support our current service members and their families, ensuring the USO has the resources to provide the support and assistance military families need throughout the year. Please donate now.

Thank you for being a cherished member of our USO community and for honoring the extraordinary individuals who have served and continue to serve our nation. Your generosity and compassion make a difference in the lives of our courageous service members and all their families.

With gratitude,

The USO
