John,
Across the country, we are witnessing a rise in hateful, authoritarian
legislation that threatens the rights and safety of LGBTQ+
individuals—more than 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been introduced across
the country.^1 It's a critical time for some of our most marginalized
communities. The attacks we're witnessing are not just policy
decisions—they are deliberate attempts to silence and use LGBTQ+ people as
political pawns in their plan for complete authoritarian control.
During a pivotal election year, now is the time to lift up our demands to
protect our communities. Drag artists and advocates will lobby Congress to
take action and elevate the Transgender Bill of Rights and the Equality
Act. [ [link removed] ]That's right: We're bringing drag artists to the Capitol! RSVP to
attend our event at the Capitol on Tuesday, June 25, 1-3 p.m. ET.
This event will spotlight the pressing needs within our communities,
emphasize why Pride remains a vital expression of our identity and
resilience, and explain why we need to codify protections for our
communities in the fight for bodily autonomy.

Both the Transgender Bill of Rights and the Equality Act are pieces of
legislation that would codify the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and enshrine
rights for LGBTQ+ folks explicitly. This is not just a symbolic gesture,
it is a call to action for all of us to be in solidarity with one another
and demand the protection and respect our communities deserve. [ [link removed] ]RSVP for
Drag Lobby Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, June 25, 1 to 3 p.m. ET.
Our strength is in one another. When we elect champions of bodily
autonomy, freedom, and expression, we have the ability to change millions
of people's lives. [ [link removed] ]This is a pivotal moment to ensure our voices are
heard and our rights are safeguarded. If you can join us at the Capitol
next week, RSVP here.
This is an opportunity to be part of an ongoing progressive movement that
insists on dignity, respect, and equality for all. We will not allow
Republican attacks to drag us down. [ [link removed] ]RSVP for next week's Drag Lobby Day
here.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? The MAGA movement's book bans have forced
teachers and librarians across the country to remove books from their
shelves and censor what young people can learn. MoveOn is fighting back,
including by filling a "Banned Bookmobile" with books that the far right
has banned and driving it to key cities and towns to raise the visibility
of book bans, hand out banned books for free, and bring people together to
stop censorship. To keep up the fight against book bans and the MAGA
politicians who support them, we need your help.
Will you start a monthly gift to power and sustain MoveOn's critical
work?
[ [link removed] ]Yes, I'll chip in $5 a month.
[ [link removed] ]No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
