The College Board just cancelled the June SAT.



Last night, Andrew had to write e-mails to all of his SAT students and their parents about the path forward. Many of those students are in classes at GradePower Learning because they haven't qualified for Bright Futures yet.



And now, it looks like they won't be able to qualify.



The Bright Futures Scholarship requires SAT scores from all students who want to recieve aid. Students attempting to meet the SAT requirement or raise their scores won't have the opportunity to take the test until August 29th. That's just two days before the August 31st deadline for Bright Futures Applications.



Andrew works first-hand with families who needed these scholarships before the economic impacts of COVID-19 began to hit. We can't take this financial aid away when they need it most.



We need the Office of Student Financial Assistance to extend its deadline for completing the Bright Futures SAT requirement so that students, such as those who use Andrew's tutoring center, have another chance to take the test and qualify for these scholarships. More than 100,000 Bright Futures Scholarships were awarded last school year and families depend on them to make school more affordable.



Our seniors have already lost a lot because of COVID-19. We cannot let access to these scholarships be taken away from those who need them.
