John,
Today is Juneteenth, marking the day in 1865 when 250,000 enslaved Black people in Texas learned that slavery was officially over—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Our country continues to deny Black people equal rights, and now right-wing groups and federal courts are attacking affirmative action and reparations programs. Oklahoma’s top court just took away the chance for reparations to survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
We need to support some of the fiercest champions in Congress for racial justice: Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman.
These progressive Black leaders are fighting back against anti-Black racism and demanding reinvestments and reparations for Black communities. They’re up for re-election soon and they’re facing primary challengers who are taking millions of dollars from racist MAGA billionaires.
Cori and Jamaal’s opponents are endorsed and funded by the right-wing group AIPAC, which has a pattern of interfering in Democratic primary elections to try to defeat Black and brown progressives. AIPAC’s right-wing donors are anti-Black, anti-abortion, anti-LGBTQ+, anti-worker, and more. We can’t let them buy these seats in Congress.
Please chip in today to help Reps. Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman withstand unprecedented millions from far-right billionaires and AIPAC. Your donation will help them stay in Congress fighting for our collective liberation.
Israeli and U.S. newspapers recently reported on a racist disinformation campaign by the Israeli government that targeted Black Democrats in Congress. Israel’s government spent millions of dollars running fake social media accounts that spread hate and lies to strengthen support for Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
There have so far been no consequences for this political interference. In the meantime, a majority of Congresspeople have continued to send billions of our tax dollars to Israel’s military without any conditions on upholding human rights, and a majority in the House of Representatives recently voted to pass a nearly-trillion-dollar Pentagon budget.
Instead of voting to spend trillions on destruction overseas, Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman are demanding investments in our communities—including Black communities who have faced systemic racism for hundreds of years.
Both Jamaal and Cori have spoken up about the connections between Black and Palestinian liberation. They’ve been outspoken advocates for Palestinians’ rights and dignity, even when it makes them targets.
Jamaal and I were early co-sponsors of Cori’s Ceasefire Now Resolution in October. We’re aligned with the majority of Americans who want a ceasefire—including 80% of Democrats, more than 1,000 Black pastors, and the NAACP.
We can’t let far-right mega-donors interfere in our democracy. Already, Jamaal’s race is more expensive than any Congressional primary ever, and AIPAC’s gearing up to spend just as much in Cori’s primary election.
With Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s re-election next Tuesday June 25th and Rep. Cori Bush’s re-election on August 6th, these progressive champions need grassroots support NOW. Can you split a donation between their campaigns today?

Thank you. Together, we will keep fighting for Black liberation and equity for all people.

John,
Tomorrow is Juneteenth, a day that marked the official end to chattel slavery in the South. Black Americans are still fighting for human rights and human dignity, while facing a new far-right backlash against affirmative action and reparations programs.
I’m proud to work alongside two Black champions for racial justice in Congress: Representatives Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush.
Jamaal Bowman and I have supported Cori Bush’s groundbreaking policies, including her Reparations Now Resolution to recognize the federal government’s responsibility to provide reparations for enslaving and inflicting harm on people of African descent. Cori and I have also co-sponsored Jamaal’s bills to fund Black history education and to condemn the racist “great replacement theory” that inspired an anti-Black massacre in Buffalo, New York just two years ago.
Cori and Jamaal understand that the fight for Black lives and the fight for Palestinian liberation are interconnected, and they’ve been leading the push in Congress for a permanent ceasefire.
Now, Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush are facing anti-ceasefire primary challengers who are taking millions from pro-Trump Republican billionaires. Their re-elections are coming up soon: Jamaal’s is next Tuesday, June 25th, and Cori’s is on August 6th. Their campaigns are powered by grassroots donations rather than corporate PAC money, and they need our support.
In honor of Juneteenth and the fight for Black liberation, please split a donation between Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush today so they can stay in Congress demanding human rights and equity for Black people and Palestinians.

While most Americans struggle to pay rent and groceries, the majority of our colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a record-breaking Pentagon budget, which would spend nearly a trillion U.S. taxpayer dollars on our military industrial complex.
Instead of voting to spend billions and trillions on war, Reps. Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush are pushing to invest in our communities’ needs like housing, healthcare, public education, and utility services. They’re fighting for marginalized communities who’ve been neglected by our government for too long.
Cori and Jamaal are rooted in love for all people, recognizing that every life is sacred and no one is disposable.
Back in October, Cori heeded the call from the grassroots to introduce a Congressional resolution demanding a ceasefire and humanitarian aid to Gaza. Since then, she and Jamaal have joined activists leading student protests, hunger strikes, and vigils to stop the genocide of Palestinians.
Because Cori and Jamaal dare to criticize the Israeli government’s apartheid and ethnic cleansing, the anti-Palestinian group AIPAC is trying to oust them from Congress.
Funded mainly by pro-Trump billionaires, AIPAC and its network of PACs spent $40 million in 2022’s midterm elections in an attempt to take down Black and brown progressives in working class communities.
This year AIPAC may spend $40 million in just Jamaal and Cori’s elections, making these the most expensive Congressional primary races ever.
This interference in Democratic primaries by right-wing donors is a racist attack on our democracy, drowning out the voices of marginalized voters. Already, big money in politics blocks Black, brown, and working class people from running for office. Cori and Jamaal want to make our government work for all of us—not just the privileged few.
Please donate whatever you can today to help Reps. Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman withstand unprecedented millions from far-right billionaires. Their elections are coming up soon and we need them to stay in Congress fighting for our collective liberation.
Thank you for helping to build a world that recognizes the sanctity of all life, no matter faith or ethnicity or background.
In solidarity,
Rashida
