Let's be real about something for a second, Samuel.

If we're going to take back Congress in 2018 and beat Donald Trump in 2020,
the Democratic Party needs to be a vibrant, innovative, and yes, well-funded
organization.

That's why tonight's end-of-year fundraising deadline is so critical. The hard
truth is that if we don't hit our fundraising goal for 2017, we won't be in
a position to win in 2018.

We've got a strategy to win, and it's worked this year: We put boots on the
ground, invested in local leaders and programs, and developed cutting-edge
tools to reach out to voters. I have no doubt that if we use this strategy
in every state, county, and ZIP code this coming year, we can take back our
majority in the House and Senate.

But I'm going to be real again: This strategy ain't cheap. In order for our
historic 50-state strategy to work, we need historic numbers of Democrats
like you to come together to take ownership of this party.
